We picked up the whitest Snow Diablo Blanco female that was available last year at Garrick DeMeyer's open house. Snow Diablos, like Diablo Blancos, can sometimes have a very slight yellowish cast to them, usually on their dorsal midline area. We got a female that was pure white with no yellow cast, and have waited patiently to get a pure white male for her.

We got our male this week, an amazing pure white 20g beauty to complete our pairing for breeding next year. Thanks to Garrick for providing us with two beautiful white geckos for our collection.

They're so pretty! I wish I had room for another project. I think that would be it. I can't wait to see their babies!

The Snow Diablo is another shade whiter than the DB. The DB often has some light yellow on the body, whereas the SD is very white, known as the purest white gecko there is. I still have seen some very slight yellow coloring on the backs of some of the SDs, but these two we chose do not have any yellow, so we're hoping their babies will also be pure white like they are. We hope that this further refining with this pairing will produce pure white animals so the morph can be taken to another level.

The real trick is to try to tell the Super Snow Diablos from the Snow Diablos! Both are extreme white with solid red eyes. I have a friend who works for the US military's DNA lab so maybe we need to get him involved! Getting a cheek swab from a gecko might be tricky but I think we can do it. ;)
