Hi guys,

What the best morph (offspring) when crossing a Snow Enigma Het Raptor to a Raptor? Can I get Novas and Dreamsickles?:)

Thanks in advance.

I defiantly look towards to those two next year when I breed my raptor with my snow enigma het raptor together.

But I think the thing I look most forward too is those Super Raptors Ive been hearing about. I hear its like winning the lotto. Rare you get any at all and still something yet to be proven out.

Yep, you could get either Novas or Dreamsickles in the first breeding season with that pairing. And if you breed a Dreamsickle back to either the Mack Enigma het RAPTOr or another Dreamsickle, you can get Super-Novas in the second breeding season. ;)

I thought it wasn't good to breed enigmas together. Is it true that their side effects become more intense and frequent when you do breed two enigmas together?

That's not 100% verified, and you'll get conflicting info. Some have already bred Emigmas to Enigmas and noticed no increase in undesirable behavior. I myself will be crossing Enigmas next season.

I personally have never bred two enigmas, so i cant speak from personal experience. However, i know many breeders have crossed 2 enigmas without issue. The idea behind it is that a homozygous enigma would have more neurological "side effects" than a het animal. I know that in some cases it has caused the "side effects" to be increased though. The fact that outcrossed sub-specie geckos show have shown no/ minimal "side effects" is promising that it can be bred out as long as the lines are kept very diverse.

Personally i wouldnt breed a mack snow enigma to a Dreamsicle. Think about how some enigmas and albinos already seem to have trouble with coordination. That just seems like too much genetic weakness at this time. perhaps after more outcrossing has been accomplished i would be more open to the idea... this is just my opinion.
