So far, so-so

Well here is my attempt at a new less-stressful hobby. This is after 6-7 hours of work so far. I still need to balance out Winnie's face and finish Kate's mouth/teeth before I start the background.

Winnie (on the left) died several years ago from a seizure caused by low blood glucose levels that they believe were the result of pancreatic cancer. She had three litters of puppies before she died. Kate (right) is one of Winnie's daughters and is a month older than Jersey. Kate is also Kineesa's younger 1/2 sister. (Kineesa died from Cushing's) Kate has really become a beautiful sheltie, but since she is so fucking spastic and slightly retarded mom had her fixed. During the operation, the vet found early stages of uterine & ovarian cancer that would likely have gone undetected and spread had she not been in for the spaying. I really like Kate, and she plays well with Jersey, and I've thought about stealing her from my mom for a while now, but ... she reminds me too much of Kineesa.

I need lots of tips, but it's kinda fun just seeing what I can figure out on my own. I'm probably doing a lot of stuff wrong, but I'll learn eventually. I've never had a painting class before--just ceramics and pop art type stuff. Oh, and some marketing crap. lol

LOL....That's 1/2 the fun. I figured out the vast majority of my technique on my own. I still try new things to see how they turn out. I don't think there's really a "wrong" way ... just more effective ways. If you ever get stuck, you know where to find me.

Wow Paul, I am really impressed, they look awesome! Any chance you would do one of Abbie for me? Doesn't have to be perfect or anything, I am not a perfectionist by any standard. I would just love to have one like that of her on my wall.

Jeanne, I'd be willing to try painting one of Abbie, but I have to paint from a picture. I'm not creative enough to just come up with it, I have to basically re-create a photo. Soooo... pick a photo of Abbie and I'll give it a shot. I can probably put a different background behind her, but I need a good, clear photo of her mug. Bigger the better.
