AWESOME job on the recovery. Dont him used to the waxworms or you'll have a crackhead on your hands. Id hate to hear about the poor little fella sitting in the corner of the tank, balled up and shaking, saying "c'mon man, just one more!" :D :D

I've got to say, you've done an exceptional job with this little guy. Pat yourself on the back cause without you answering that add he'd have been a goner for sure !!

This just goes to show that with a little research and the proper care they should never wind up in that type of condition.

Now that you've got him eating on the wax worms, start getting him to eat other items or like it was mentioned above, he'll get "addicted" to those wax worms....

Fantastic job. I'm also a sucker for the sickly ones, and thought I'd seen some rough looking geckos.

But dang.

Here is Ramses after a couple of months. He still can't see very well, but he finally figured out how to eat out of a dish. Feeding him one mealworm at a time with tweezers was getting absurd.

With this new skill he should put one some more weight now. I feel like he could be a bit fatter. I'm not sure how much to feed him, he gobbles down a tablespoon or more of mealworms every other day. He's basically a bottomless pit.

Great job on helping him recover! My year old male had some eye caps & saline worked wonders, along with keeping high humidity. But once his caps were off his weight sky rocketed. He's now showing true colors & is even bulkier than my 5yr old male. He was also able to catch his own food while he had eye caps, but I tweezer fed him 80% of the time.

What you have done is absolutely AMAZING! Thanks to you he has a second chance at life a gift which is truly priceless! I am also a sucker for the weak and needy animals. Would love to see another updated pic on how he is doing now!

Wanted to come back and update this thread, Ramses is still doing great!

At his last vet visit we confirmed that his pupils do not react to light at all, so he is mostly or totally blind.

But still adorable.
