Well; I picked up a juvenile leo from one of those big-chain pet stores on Thursday night; and haven't seen him really move at all from the one spot of his cage for a few days. Honestly worried he may be sick or something.....as he is awefully skinny as well and I didn't see him showing any interest in food; even when the mealies were right in front of his nose. Well; one of the other members on this forum told me to maybe try some waxies to help bulk him up; but do not go over-board due to the high fat content. Well; picked up some waxworms while running my errands today; got home and put 2 in his cage. Once they warmed up and got wriggling; they were gone within 5 minutes or so. After watching him consume them; I place a cricket in there and that was gone in a few seconds as well; then I figured to try taking a mealie or 2 out of his bowl and placed them in front of his hide......sure enough he popped his head right out and swallowed them down as well. Really makes me feel more relieved now that this little guy is showing signs of a real appetite....starting to think rather than being really "ill"; just wasn't properly cared for at the store. Either that; or his tank "mates" were getting to the food before he could. Still going to get a fecal sample to the vet in order to definitely rule out and parasites and such; but it is a huge relief to see that he is settling in and eating.

Great news! I hope he will grow nice and fat :main_yes: A fecal sample is always a good idea when acquiring a new gecko. Good job with him! :main_thumbsup:
