So what is it?

Well recently i've been reading a lot about leopard geckos' morphs, and have become more interested then i've ever thought. So, well i was wondering if i posted a picture of my gecko, (given to me by a freind a long time ago right after he bought it as a hatchling from pet-co, because he had no time for it)
could someone tell me what morph it is? or if it's just a "Normal" or maybe even a "High Yellow"

And also, if it's a male or female.

I'll get a few pictures up in a minute of the little one :)

I'm guessing it's a female, normal?

But i could be wrong, she's got some carrot tail, and um not mant spots on her back.

Any feedback/comments are welcomed :)

what type

I am going to guess that it is a female hypo, due to the lack of spots on its back and the lack of bulge/pores. But I could be wrong. I am just getting into these geckos, but I have been doing some reading.

Thanks guys :)

now i'm wondering, if i was to want to breed her, do i want a male "Hypo" or do i want someting else to help bring out other triats from the both of them?

is she het. albino?
if you pair her up with a hybino, you'll have a 50% chance of hybino's and the other 50% will be hypo's het albino.
If you arent sure she is het. albino...I woul still go for hybino or maybe even sunglow. That should produce (super)hypo het albino!

If you pair her up with a hybino, everything you produce will be het albino. Hybinos and Sunglows are the same thing

Nice one! She's a cutie.

I don't think a hybino and a sunglow are the same thing

Hypomelanistic+albino = hybino

Hypomelanistic+tangarine+albino = sunglow

:) Like Brandon said, if she isn't het albino and you breed her to an albino, you will get heterozygous albinos. :) However, once you get those offspring and they are breeding size, then you can breed the "het" albinos to the albino male and get albinos. Good luck and have fun!!!

BTW- I thought she looked like a high yellow but then I noticed she only has two bars. SHe's pretty!

when some geckos are younger, they have bars or horizontal stripes on them. A "high yellow" will have three bars, one at the base of the tail, and two more over the back. I don't have a pic...maybe someone does so you can better see what I mean. :) Or just look through the show off your leo section and some of the juvie leos have them.

not to get too off topic but the hybino/sunglow debate has been done already @ http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=3082&highlight=hybino

alot of times you will see the terms used interchangably and its really just what that breeder decides to call their animals.

as for the original question i would say its a hypo female. i would breed her to one of several things. Super hypo, hypo, albino, sunglow/hybino. any of those combinations would probably give you your best offspring or of course you could always put her with a mack snow or mack super snow. The possibilities are pretty much endless, just pick a direction you want to go.

She's definitely a hypo high yellow female. I would stick too a Hypo or Super Hypo Tangerine male if you decide to breed her. There are lots of normal het albinos out there already. Keeping albino genes out of them would probably be best in the long run if you're going to find homes for the babies.

i saw this "I know who steals the ramekins... " in your signature, and it's funny because my mother works at 99, and i was looking in out cabinate at the selection of ramekins, and i was thinking, "man, these would be perfect for food and calcium dishes for my gecko" haha :D
