First time breeding leopard geckos. I've gotten three single infertile clutches from my female who has been with a male for a couple months. The eggs are laid rather deflated and kinda remind me of jello. I've read this just means they are infertile, which I have confirmed by candling and seeing a bunch of yellow.

I know it's pretty normal for there to be infertile clutches, but it's like clockwork. Every few weeks, a single infertile egg pops out. Can I expect to find some fertile ones soon? Also, are the eggs hard like a crested geckos or softer? I definitely don't want to just throw any eggs away for being too soft only to find it's normal for leopard gecko eggs.

Thanks!

If they feel like jello, then I would most likely agree that they are infertile. A good leopard gecko egg should be firm, holds its shape, have a chalky white feeling and look, and shouldnt feel like a partially deflated water balloon. ;)

I don't know how hard crested gecko eggs are, so I cant comment on that comparison, but leo eggs should be flexible to a gentle touch, but still firm. If she is constantly laying infertiles she may be just a little to young (i dont know her age though) , he male may be infertile or "shooting blanks", or the female may be infertile. Either way its mainly just a waiting game to see what happens. I hope this helps a little though :)

Hopefully she starts laying some fertile eggs. She's a gorgeous girl and it'd really be a shame if she couldn't pass on her genetics.

The female is a RAPTOR with two solid red eyes. Male is a W/Y Eclipse het. Trepmer.

Sorry I know they aren't the best pictures, they were just the ones I found quick on my computer. If you want I can get better pictures some time this week that I will have decent light.

They are gorgeous geckos. I have to say that I've had my least success in getting fertile eggs from the Raptor and Aptor het Raptor females I've tried breeding.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm just hoping to at least get a few good clutches from her before she's done for the year. I'm really excited to see the W/Y and RAPTOR come together. I think it's going to be really cool :)
