Soft eggs?

I just got my first two eggs! (i know, horray!) Anyway, they are in the incubator, but since i pulled them out basically right after she laid them, they were still really really soft...how long does it normally take for them to firm up, before i know if they are soft bc they are infertile? This isn't her first clutch, its about her 3rd this season, but her first with me. Any help would be appreciated.

They should be harder within a day, but they are not usually brittle like bird eggs because they do grow as the baby does.
