Love seeing newly hatched photos. Such stunning animals. I need to experience the hatch cycle at least once in my life...

She uses Vermiculite though she may have switched to some thing else. Am i correct meg or did you switch to Hatchrite or Perlite
No, I still use vermiculite. But I learned an important lesson. If you want consistant, repeatable results.... dont just 'eyeball' it! Measure and record your data. I use an exact 2:1 ratio of water to vermiculite. I weigh everything now!!

I assumed you switched because earlier in the season you were having trouble keeping the ratio of 2:1. Im glad vermiculite is working for you :3

I guess I'm surprised at how 'dry' the incubation medium really is. It didn't seem right to me, so I kept adding too much water. Lesson learned! We want humidity, not wetness.

This is one of my latest hatchlings. He shows signs of enigma syndrome, but he doesn't look like an enigma! They're supposed to have white tails and blotches instead of stripes. I don't have much experience with this, does anyone know if this is an enigma? His colors are very bright, but he circles when he gets excited and has terrible balance. I'm pretty worried about him. Oh, and he is very small, too. He was only 2 g when hatched.
