Tamara took some pictures of a couple of our rats. First up is Chubby Lumpkins.. I got her as an unweaned pup. We had a nursing Momma Rat at home.. So she has been with us for a while now. She is just starting to get big. :)

And.. this is one of our baby Hairless Rats that was from a Hairless x Het. Hairless breeding.. By the time they reach full size.. They will have just a pinch of fur. They just start off a lot fuzzier. They are listed on CL right now. Anyone local want a young Hairless Rat Male?

awwww!!! I loves ratties!!

Seeing these little guys make me somewhat sad, last year I had to put to sleep my 5 year old Russian blue dumbo, Peanut, she was the sweetest little girl.

Colored rats are illegal here now, it stinks sooo much!

I don't know, some lady let some out of her house a few years ago just to let them play in her yard, and someone told the state she was trying to set them free...so the state ruled that colored rats will survive better then albino's, so...now all we have is albino's, which I don't mind, but I miss colored rats.

And in all reality, its -38 F, soon to be -60%, any rat will freeze, and any rat will try to get indoors, regardless of color.

They are soooo cute!!! I love rats. Never had them before, but I have had mice in the past as pets and they were great. Unfortunately they are not great for my allergies. I was considering on getting a hairless rat, but the bf doesn't like the smell of them. He complained of my mice smelling even despite the fact I cleaned the tank twice a week. Right now we have reached a compromise in the rodent dept. We currently are the proud owners of an 8 week old syrian hamster that was brought to my work that someone found pretty much frozen in their backyard. I was amazed that she survived and decided she needed to come home with me. She is still getting used to being handled and I'm using gloves to pick her up and she's getting better with it. I call her Sophie Fat Butt, but my daughter calls her Mousie. She is great because she also doesn't smell. Today she is getting moved into a 20 Long tank instead of the 20 Tall I have her in so she can have more room to run around.

awww they are cute. My daughter used to have a rat. Mickie Rat ( I know not very original lol ). I like them and think that they are really cute all except the tail. I don't know why but the tails are an issue for me.
