After all the vet visits, hand feedings, warm soaks...it's frustrating to know that everything you could possibly do just wasn't enough.

At some point during the night, Obi passed away. Dante knew I think, as he was sitting with him when I found him. Even after taking him out, Dante just sat there in that spot.

I'm sorry buddy, but you're in a better place now.

awww, Sorry Val.

At least you did all you could, and made Obi's life as enjoyable as it could have been.
Sometimes these things just happen, I doubt there's anything more you could have done for him.

Thanks for the support all. I know I at least gave Obi a good home during his short time, so it helps. Plus I've still got his brother to take care of yet, so I'm hoping that thru all of this at least he makes it, the it all will feel worth it.

But I couldn't help but break down when I looked in the cage this morning and saw poor Dante curled up with him, then how lost he looked when I took him out.

Hopefully that doesn't dampen his spirits to the point of him slipping away too. But I think he's a little trooper. I was actually surprised that since having them seperated a week like I did, I put them back together and there were no issues. They seemed almost happy to be back in the others company.

I do have others, but he tested positive as well for parasites, so I don't want to risk getting any of the other infected. I'm already afraid Loki might've caught the bug since he was inhabiting the other side of the 20 gallon they were all in. Even if that wasn't the case I still need to sterilize everything. I would love to do that, but even if that wasn't the case I'm not sure which ones would be good with him. Odin's a might bit bigger than him, and Eragon is way, way smaller.
