Hello all,

My youngest boy has been wanting a Leo as a pet for awhile and I told him if he saved enough money to get everything he could get one. So between him saving his allowance and bargain hunting at garage sales he was able to save enough money to get everything he needed.

Tho I was hoping he would wait till October when the next reptile show is in Salt Lake City before he purchased his Leo. Apparently he couldnt wait and bought one from Pet Co when he was there with his Mother.

Tho it was very small when he bought it, he as been taking excellant care of it and has spent time handling it a little each day and making sure to clean the tank and stuff. He is even able to feed the Leo he calls Hyder mealie worms by hand.

After reading alot of post on here, and looking other places online he thinks his Leo might be a hypo tangerine with a possible carrot tail as the first ring on his tail is turning orange after the recent shed.

Any help in identifying would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hypo Tangerine Carrot tail, But it is very possible that it is SHTCT (Super Hypo Tangerine Baldy Carrot Tail.) Looks pretty nice, too!:main_thumbsup:

You'll still have to wait awhile to see if it's a carrot tail, since it's so young. Technically, to be a carrot tail, at least 30% of the tail from the base should be orange, without any black spots in that area. The gecko does look very well cared for.

Again, another inconsistence in the CT saga... I was told, and have read, that it was 15% of the tail. Either way, it's a nice looking gecko for a pet store find. And, I agree with Aliza. I think it's a bit young right now to know for certain what it is. They undergo a few color changes as they get bigger. Congrats to your son.
