Has anyone ever kept or bred Sowbugs?

I know for leos they may not be good but for babies.. but I am interested in trying to raise some of these to see how they breed. They would be great for other geckos and baby redfoot tortoises!

It seems possible, but I would want to know if there are atleast F1's available just to be sure that your colony is free from diseases, pesticides, etc.

I teach an environments unit at school and isopods are a part of that unit, otherwise known as the sowbug. They come to us from a lab and I place them in a lil plastic tank with airholes, dirt, and potatoes.. and they procreate just fine... and often.

I keep them in my planted tanks. I get them from the back yard. They must be doing well because every now and then I see them and some are smaller than the ones I put in there.

I have some in my cham tank. And honestly, I just picked up about 50 from outside....Me nor my neighbors have any pesticides or anything so i was sure it was safe, I kept them seperate for awhile. But since your just breeding them to be breeding them....just go outside and look under somthing lol. Its the PERFECT time of year to find alot outside.
