I was wondering if i could spray paint rust oleum textured for my leo tank. Either on the bottom of the tank itself, or on a peice of linoleum flooring plastic i could put in the tank. Would this be safe and if so, how should i seal it?

Im not sure how well that would work but I would definately not spray it on the bottom of the tank its self. As long as it a non toxic paint it would be fine and you would need to use a rust oleum sealer. But I would suggest using tile or reptile carpet instead of painting somthing I think it would look alot better. Plus you can get a tile that already has a texture on it.

I agree, Ive looked at the paint your talking about and it is nice but none of it was non toxic. I also wouldn't spray the tank .. you could easily just cut out a piece of foamboard to fit the bottom of your tank .. you could use flooring grout to make whatever type of rough fake rock look you want and paint it any color you want .. as for actual painting i just use regular non toxic laytex paint in a water bottle, I add enough water so it can be sprayed on my project. I then use Modpodge sealant, its avail at Wal-Mart in the craft section for $5. I also thin it out and put it in a spray bottle, makes for a super cheap "spray gun" and I can paint an entire project within minutes. I put multipule layers of sealant, allow it to dry after each one .. the final layer I make pretty thick. In the end it will be very durable, I can wipe off all my projects with wet papertowels and I never take off any paint.
