Starting over

The girl at petco says soak it in bleach for an hour, than scrub it with dish soap to get it off
and she said it would be hard on the stuff. I got new carpet and a new hide (plastic, not wood).
My dads installing a dimmer switch.

Definitely toss out the wood. Clean the cage and everything that come into contact with the inside of it. You don't want Oliver to join William.

The person said he died of parasites( there were all the signs, and I bought him that way)
Do I have to replacE everything? I had so much and I'm already going to bleach everything!
Not only that but I have my uth stuck to the tank anyway!

"the person said" is definitely not a reliable source. Without tests then there is 0 certainty. Therefore I would just replace everything. Is the risk really worth it? I mean come on. UTH are like 20 bucks. If that is out of the price range then I do not think pet ownership should be an option
