sigh, I hate this!
I decided to re-do my collection.
I decided to do male/female pairs of the following:

Blazing blizzards (I already have female...male I am willing to do some other type of het or whatever)

Phantoms and Snows from urban

Super snow, and albino super snows

That leaves me with 10 geckos.
I am still contemplating on the phantoms and snows from urban because they are a little out of budget for me, but hey, those phantoms are just crazy...
I think i could put off the snows but man I am just in love with phantoms.

Well now I am having a problem with keeping in those guidlines.

There is a RW I want...
A Tangerine...
A RAPTOR (Which I can justify almost because thats how the got diablo blancos right? and i woudln't mind making some on those. They aren't on my list becuase they are too expensive)

Sigh I just can't keep my eye on my selected morphs.

then the pet store over here has a patternless and I am thinking of the options for that....SS patternless!

I feel like I am heading into another frenzy of buying geckos.
:p

Forget about sticking to a plan. I told myself I was done buying leos for this year and done expanding my breeding plans and done this or done that and it never happens. I always come across something else I want to breed or something else I just want to have. I think I just tell myself I'm done so I can feel like I'm not an addict.

The best thing to do is just come up with exactly what your goals are and stick with them. Don't go crazy buying ten geckos to breed if you can't handle the 10+ babies that each pair can produce. It can become way too overwhelming very quickly!

I don't plan to breed them all at the same time,
and I prob wont get the full collection for awhile.
(like two year and even more)

Honestly I think I am going to stick with just SS types (Normal, patternless, and albino)
Probably I will only have one normal male and the rest one female each.
I found a female SS patternless, i am hoping they are willing to do a payment plan with me. Then a female albino would be great.
I just put a male BB on hold, so that leaves that pair. And one other I am planning on getting, a female Raptor and a male jungle het raptor.

The thing that sucks now is getting the cages together.
I only have one extra 20 gal.
Looks like I will be doing tubs!

Males will probbly go into tubes and females living together...

Snow Glows are very similar to Phantoms but probably more affordable, so you might take a look at those. They're really cool. The Phantoms are cool too of course.

Just remember that if you breed 5 females, you're likely to have around 40-60 hatchlings.

That's pretty much what we are doing, going for SS, SS Patty, and SS albino. But you'll need a breeding pair of each since the Patty and albino are recessive genes. Like if you took a regular SS and bred it with an SS Patty, you'd get SS's all het. for Patty, and no Patty SS's

Yeah I love sunglows too, I just can't find one that I am in love with to keep.
well thats good to keep in mind Jess....I can get a male albino but I haven't found a male patternless.
Might be difficult!

It's ok, just make sure you don't get too much. Set a number of geckos you want to have and just keep it at that. Your collection is sure to grow if you're going to breed them. There will always be that one that you want to hold back or a pair that lays 17 eggs a season and you want to keep them all. lol. Just be sure that you have your self-control and set a limit for yourself.

I know, I already figured that out a while ago :)
I only plan on breeding one at a time, but i know it can still get overwhelming.

Honestly, I can cut out the phantoms and snows.
I love them, but there not my total thing. the SS are.
And my female bb because she is my baby! lol

We got our male mack snow patternless from Anthony Caponetto

As for the different albinos, you will only get regular SS's, no albinos. That's why there are three different strains because they do not "splice" with eachother

A Snow Glow is different from a Sun Glow. A Snow Glow is a Mack Tremper crossed to a Sunglow. Jason Haygood/Gecko Genetics originated the name.

A Phantom is basically made up of similar morphs, but it uses the TUG Snow and Tang lines. Phantoms and Snow Glows have slightly different looks, but they're pretty similar. Phantoms seem to have a little more of a lavender hue to them.

I just looked, and I think they look a lot different.
Urban geckos are mostly white (Which is what draws me to them) with very little coloring.
Gecko genetics still have a lot of hue (they are nice, just not what i am looking for)

Normal SS to a bell albino would give you 100% snows het. for bell. You could then breed the snows that are het. for bell together to try to get an SS, but you'd only have 25% chance to get an SS and 25% chance for the SS to be albino, so it would be 1/16th of a chance to produce an albino ss.

Your best bet would be to skip all of that and just go ahead and get an SS that is het. for bell and breed it to a Snow Bell. You'd get 50% SS, and 50% would be albino; so in essence, you'd have a 25% chance to produce an albino SS.

Yeah I guess you're right. I thought part of it was lighting, but the Phantoms and Snow Glows do seem to be more different as the lines develop.
