Stiff Tail

I'm not sure if this is anything to be concerned about, but the tail on one of my females is extremely stiff. It is peculiar because every other tail I've ever felt is just like the rest of the gecko-- soft. Usually tails can move and wave around, but this tail is like a stone. I'm worried that maybe she severed her spine but didn't drop her tail. Like a paralyzation or something. She's moving fine, acting fine, albeit no appetite. Her tail is just stiff. It doesn't move. It's almost rock hard. There is no visual difference, though, other than it not waving around.

Has anybody had this happen to a gecko of theirs, and should I be concerned?

I've never seen that happen. I've seen just the tip go stiff. It turns out there was an infection on the underside and the tail tip had to be amputated eventually...

I think I found the problem. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the tip of her tail has traces of blood on it (very small traces). She just came out of shed 2 days ago. She probably had a rough shed and the stiffening up her tail is just a sign that she's in a little bit of pain. She's not housed with any other lizards, so I know it wasn't foul play.

I put some Neosporin on it and put the moist hide in again. Hopefully, she'll fully recuperate in the next few days.
