It's going to be a week tuesday and Luella my SHTCTB is still missing
-looks down at the ground and sighs- all good things must come to an end.
first off I'd like to suggest lots of hides, maybe two in each room. and I know its a pain but i do suggest laying paper down across every doorway with flour on it, that way if your gecko crosses it you'll know exactly which room its in and which direction it went. hope this helps and I hope you find your gecko. best of luck.
Don't give up hope Zynx. She could pop up anywhere. -hugs-
Just keep looking Hun, I know it's hard.
Leos have a way with popping up in the most unheard of places. LOL
Thats a great idea!!! I would so do that if I didn't have 3 dogs who'd love to play in it and scatter it across the house, lol.
Find a Gecko 101 Note Chapter 1 :
You do not have to find a lost gecko, simply find it's hiding place.
I could find your gecko, if I were there. I'm not so you would have
to give me details on the area it was last seen in........
#1 thing to do is keep that area or room closed up if possible.
(if B.R./door kept closed till found)
what room?, room temp.? water source present(as a bath, shower, etc.)?
closets? animals? carpet? rugs? storage boxes? appliances with motor (like fridge) Open wall space or all filled with furniture?.........anything else.
I have found 3 of my own and helped 9 others.....
Fee is $100 + airfare and lodging.................
just a little humor.
they can be anywhere, trust me. ANYWHERE. one of my geckos managed to escape for about a week, and one day im about to put my shoe on and i see a little head looking up at me. Check shoes!
well my ccousin did find her hamster inside the stove, not under it, not behind it, but in it! how it accomplished this feet I'm not totally sure
the carpet in my room was never stretched so it is possible to lift it up in some places but for a leo to do it, seems unlikely
Pretty much everthing can be looked behind, or under
OK, I wish I could say I spotted it from your airial drawing, but I don't see it yet.
But we will find it..........
First, just a comment. the carpet...The gecko doesn't have to lift it, but if there is any place that you might be able to slip your hand under? (like an edge)? its a possibility..................................................................
The BR closet is my first pick...Especially if it was light in the room.
If your closet floor is full of stuff.....( most are)
Two ways.....
Search every item with an entry(shoe/to the toe...shake em out)
Put that item up on a shelf or somewhere so the gecko can't get in later.
This is the place to start...............The second way to do the
closet floor is not the most effective but a non patience person way.
Couple Shoe boxes 3 entry holes each...the hole less side against a wall......contains moist paper towels............check often.
You can even do both of these until you feel it is not there. But you got to keep the closet door closed 24/7
I am making an assumption that you have looked
under the TV, Desk, Dresser, Space between the bed and wall............
and if your BR door opens to a hall or the area I see listing a Bookcase.
Your gecko can go a pretty good while without food or water........
Its first searching will be for protection,
heat/cool (so it can be changing spots to find the temp. needed),
water, food............
and if you held it a lot......even boredom from not seeing you.
If your BR door is open a lot where it could have left.......
Check the hall bath out good....moisture will be in its search.
Found one in the folds of a shower curtain.
Take care... HJ
May the "Finding of the Gecko Force be with You"
HAven't checked the shower currtain but I have checked everything else you said, even all my closets.
