Don't feel too bad, David. I still have an ovulating girl that hasn't 'approved' of any of the boys I've put in with her, either. I'm just going to give her some more time and try, try again. :main_yes:

have you tried keeping both together for like a week and maybe they will breed one of the days your not watching?
I have had them together for like a 1 months 1/2 now..and before that i had them together for a week and then seperated for a few then put them together again...ect.

that must be very fustrating when she is ovulating to have her not breed..i wish my female would just ovulate or something.

Do you just have one male? If you have more, then try them. Some females just don't approve of certain males. I'm wishing you luck!

I think she will eventually.. Plus, you may never see them actually breed, so it's a nice big surprise when you find that your female is preggo! Best of luck to you David :)

I feel so bad for you. Are they still together? And have you seen the breeding happen yet?

I'm not doubting your husbandry David, but generally Males are little horn-dogs. So you may want to check your temps, and every other little thing that could go wrong, I also noticed you use cardboard hides, personally I would never use cardboard just for the sheer fact of all the chemicals that get packed into it through manufacturing, also I know you have a wooden cage. Do you know if any of that would contains any chemicals that could be harmful to your geckos. Just my 2 cents.

I find if you keep them together like you have, for a while. The male loses intrest in her, sort of lol. He sort of sees her as his, so hes not as egar to mate. Seperate them for a few days, put them back together and he will be much more intrested.

i was in the same position but i had been waiting for months and finally my female became gravid and all seems to be going well. It was annoying because i saw 1000s of threads on forums telling everyone they had gravid females and mine was attacking my male lol.

Also the weather over here seems to have thrown my geckos off, a few weeks a go it was snowing and 3 days later it was boiling hot (for england lol). But we have had a few weeks of warm weather and shes gravid now

good luck

what would you suggest instead of cardboard?i see people with paper towel rolls, is that the same as cardboardi dont believe the wood has anything harmful in it but i may be wrong...it is partical wood. Shoul i just make 2 identical hides? does it make much difference

thanks

David instead of the cardboard hides, goto wal-mart and get a couple of rubbermaid sandwich containers (cheap ones work), and cut about a 2 inch hole in the lid and put some moss in it. Or go to home depot and get some plastic flower pot bases and cut a small door in the side. Both options are very cheap and work great, plus they are very easy to clean. Also particle board has chemicals in it, as all wood does.

Heres a thought for you .

Have you checked to see that your male is truly a male ? When I got my "male" he was tempature sexed and I was in the same situation as you . I waited forever . Then finally I checked to see if she was a male and guess what ? It was a female . Now i got a new visually sexed male and everythings working out great .
