Storing silkworm eggs

I'm very sad because it looks as though I've lost most of the silkworm eggs I was attempting to store in my downstairs refrigerator. I was keeping them on the door of the fridge in plastic bags. From what I can see, they appear collapsed or burst in some cases. I'm guessing dessication?

Does anyone have any tips for storing silkworm eggs and maintaining the correct humidity?

I found this thread on the chameleon forums, which is a little helpful. Next time, I'll try the crisper and a little drop of water to try to prevent desiccation.

Of course, this means I have to do the whole "raise to adult and then deal with mating moths" thing again. >_< D'oh!
