Me patterenless leo has been acting odd lately and i cant seem to find anything about it online so i thiought maybe id get help better here. Not really worried about it so its nothing bad just curious. Lately he will climb up onto his house and start waveing his tail slowly in the air like hes flexing it or something it very neat to watch how he does it but im curious as to if there is a reason as to why hes doing it. Has anyone else seen this and know why its happening? Hes the only one doing it the other two dont do this and one ive had for two years.

Usually it's just posturing. That's how they say, "Hey look at me, I'm a tough guy!". Babies do it quite frequently and sometimes adult females will do it as well.

Our littelest boy does this all the time. He is about 4 months old and thinks he is "Billy Bad Butt", LOL. I have him on video. I thought it was hilarious.

is it just because he smells another male? yes i keep three in one tank one, the one doing the tail waveing, is male and theres a female with him and i think one male not sure yet. but if hes reaching maturity im going to seperate them so they wont fight. this might mean the other is male even though i cant tell . Thanks alot!

also instead of starting a new thread how about useing those non slip foam drawer liners, that you use in cabinets and drawers, for the bottom of cages until i can get some new tile which might be awhile. the ones i got are smooth, my bf got em for me awhile back, anyway i thought to use those non slip pads cause i can get em cheap at my store. has anyone used them before? or are they dangerous to the gekos?

If you are talking about nonadhesive shelf liners they are safe as long as they are nonadhesive. I use them in combination with my tiles. They are easier to clean than repticarpet, but the tile is the easiest to wipe clean. My leos like the shelf liner as it has a texture and easy for them to walk around on. When I first changed Jackie's tank to tile, he stayed on the shelf liner for the first week and half; till he got his tile legs! Watch for sales at Home Depot and Lowe's; I saw some tiles on sale for 77 cents each! Cheaper than shelf liner!

Hope this helps!
