Strange eggs...

Hello!
This is the first season I'm joining in on breeding leopard geckos, and I must say - it's exciting!!
Now, about 3 weeks ago my High Yellow girl gave me two eggs. One died and molded (was infertal) and the other one had the "Bulls eye" and everything. A big and fat and really good looking egg.

But.. after three weeks I thought I'd see some difference in the egg. I saved the egg from dying about 4-5 days ago, it started to sink in. I added a bit more moist, and now it popped right back out again and is looking good.
But.. The inside. I thought it should be red by now? I incubate on 31,5 celsius.

My other girl, a normal female named Frida, has given me three eggs as her first clutch, all fertile. :main_cool3: And the first one which came about 4 days ago has already made LOTS of blood veins and is starting to really glow red inside. Even a newbie like me can see that this is really a great looking egg!!

So whats up with the first egg? It still has it's little bulls eye, but I see no particular blood veins, and it's pretty yellow all around.. But it hasn't molded or anything, it's looking healthy on the outside... But hasn't developed into any baby at all.

What's wrong?

I am a newbie at this too. From what I have read here, you should just let the egg keep incubating until it starts to stink or gets nasty looking. It could just be that you aren't able to see inside this egg as well as the others :main_huh: Of the 6 eggs that we have, I have never been able to see much beyond the point where they have the bullseye in them. One of them I was able to see where it had more red veins after a few weeks, but didn't notice anything more than that until they hatched. Good luck with your eggs, I hope they hatch for you!

Are the eggs cooking at different temps? Other than that, the only thing you can do is wait it out. If it rots it is bad, if it hatches well then it is fertile. Sorry I can't help much, I'm a newbie too.

Thanks for the replies though!

The eggs Should be cooking at the same temps. They probably are too. 31,5, I bought one of those expensive incubators since my home-made one failed so bad. :p

Hm, I still think it's strange that it hasn't evolved into anything else than that red little dot. Maybe it's like you say, I can't see beyond it much?

Anyways, exciting to see now. :) The egg is still looking really good, so at least that looks like normal. :p
