I have had more unusual adventures with eggs with my bearded dragon who has never been introduced to a male than with all my breeding leopard geckos. Ollie had already laid 2 clutches of infertile eggs and the other day she started her "I need to lay" behavior again, so I put a tub of dirt in her cage. I guess the dirt was too wet for her because the next day I found 16 eggs on the floor of her cage. This morning I gave her a bowl of greens and fresh peaches and strawberry tops. When I got home today, there was pink goo all over the cage and about 10 hot pink eggs that reeked of strawberry. I can't tell exactly what happened. Maybe she threw up after eating the strawberries and laying the eggs or pooped while she was laying. I wish I"d taken a picture. She's a lot skinnier now, and VERY tired. She is getting extra calcium. I hope she's finally done for the season. How many clutches is normal for a beardie?

This is an old thread. Last season (2010) Ollie laid 5 clutches for a total of 125 eggs! This year, at the ripe old age of 8, she's laid her first clutch of 27 eggs. This is a good reason for my never finding her a mate. Can you imagine having to care for 100 baby beardies (ugh!).
