So I know a lot frogs get stressed out easily if they are handled often, but what my L gecko?

my question is how often can the be handled without causing him to be overstressed?

I handle all of my geckos (I have 6) at least every other day. The babies I try to handle every day, in order to get them used to it. The more you handle them, the less prone they will be to stress out when you do. Of course, if they are not used to it, they are going to stress out more. Even a week after hatching, the babies are as calm as can be when I'm handling them :)

thanks for the advice

I try to handle my still unnamed gecko a 1-3 times a day, he's about 3.5-4" long

i feel too many books and care sheets neglect to mention this kind of thing. I mean when people usually buy these kind of animals, they want to hold them and play with them. It'd be good to include how much is too much and such.

As long as you are giving them "down time" to themselves, they should be just fine :) I don't think 1-3 times a day is too much. I know kids that get these geckos want to hold them all day long lol, my nephews BEG me to "watch cartoons and hold the lizards" every time they come over.

So far, none of my leos want to be held. They will get on my hand and lick it, sometimes they will let me pet their heads or tickle their tummies when I catch them trying to climb the wall, but they do not want to be picked up. :main_no:

Also, I'm not afraid they will bite me because it might hurt me (I know it wont) but because I think it might hurt them.
I read somwhere (take it for what it's worth!!) that they can injure their jaw.

my gecko crawls over my hand, up my arm, on my back, and sometimes back to the other arm. One time he was crawling on my desk and i held out my hand crawled right onto it.
So i mean, I wanna believe he likes me. When I saw him at the pet shop (it was the 2nd time i was there that day) he recognized me and crawled right up to the glass. That's when I knew was the right one
