stripe?

I am think of purchasing some geckos from a local breeder and one I want to get looks as though she has a stripe, he is saying she a tangerine and I believe that but I also think she has some stripe genes can you guys clarify for me

Looks like she has a dorsal stripe, which is pretty common among leos.

That's possible too, i don't work with red stripes, so i'm unfamiliar with them at all, let along low grade ones : ) Thanks.

Not sure how old she is, but if she is around 15-20 grams then that is close to what her adult pattern will be. She may retain a little of that stripe pattern. If that is the case I would agree that she looks like a red stripe. Striping isn't really a genetic thing like being an albino, but is a line bred trait. It was explained to me this way...it's like being a platinum, ash, dirty, or golden blonde. It isn't a different gene, but how much the color varies. Hope that helps.

Pair her with a nice male redstripe and I bet you will get a few hatchlings with really nice red stripes and some of her quality. I have a female redstripe that looks even more like a tang than her(her stripe faded away with breeding and age) and she has produced some amazing raining red stripes.

Nothing more than a normal tangerine with a dorsal stripe.You can clearly see it's banded with the dorsal stripe cutting through the middle.
