and i have this bad feeling that a lot of the animals that are malnourished or are "sick" will be destroyed...even thou they can most likely be rehabilitated and whatnot... hopefully there are some dedicated herpers and venomous keepers up north that can step up and take in some of those animals and rehabilitate them.

We had the same exact situation happen down here in Florida (vero beach to be exact) where there were hundreds of reptiles seized from a petshop, and were in the same state as these animals in PA... but the HSUS got involved and destroyed the majority of the animals, even ones that were healthy, although there were a handful of herpers that were more than willing to spend their own time and money to rehabilitate the animals that were sick...

I just hope this situation in pennsylvania doesnt turn out to be like the situation here in florida...

Wait, so they want people to house them?!? My friend has a "reptile Rescue" where he houses animals till he can find a good gome. Im like 15-30 minute sfrom lockport too.... hmmmmm

sad thing is that this type of thing happens all too often. all it does to the reptile comunity is give it a big back eye. it doesnt matter whether western diamondback rattle snake or leopard geckos, they are all reptiles in an outsiders perspective.. so tame, large, small, agressive, hot it doesnt matter. why do you think it is so important for the reptile comunity to police it's self? stuff like this is just more ammo for others in banning reptiles.
in the end the animals get the bad end of the stick in seizures like this, like nora said allot of times the animals are destroyed.
