I'm getting that crazy reptile urge again! I have an empty shelf on my rack system, and I wanna fill it:main_evilgrin:. I'm looking for a docile, diurnal reptile. I was thinking of getting a Blue Tongued, but the size of them would make my mom hesitate to that. Is there a medium to small lizard that's great at handling?

I was also thinking of either a Crested gecko or a Fat Tail, but I'm not sure...how docile are they, and what does a Crested eat?
Thanks^^

If you have the room, a bearded dragon pretty much has the same requirements as a skink and don't get nearly as big. I actually have both and I find the beardy to be much more sociable and interesting. My skink is not fond of me.

As far as cresteds go, I don't own one but other people on the site seem to have no problems handling theirs. I believe they eat a mixture of pre-prepared nectar type food and possibly insects, but I'm not positive.

I have a couple cresties and they're soo neat lol. I just love how they jump, so it's so much fun just to let them jump from one hand to the other. My cresties are not as sociable as some of my leos, they do not usually like it when I stick my hand into their cage to grab one. But once their on your hand they calm down and they will just chill on your arm or jump around on you.

Mine are still young though, so they could calm down with time, but they aren't as chill as leos. But I like them a lot none the less. They're nothing compared to my chameleon, who could die just seeing me lol.

We also have two beardies, but they're not my cup of tea. They're so messy, and wow, does their poop smell like hell. It's a real pain having to clean out the poop every day or two to keep the smell down. But I do agree that they're pretty docile and easy to handle.

Hi. Just joined though I have been lurking for several months reading all these great posts....

My suggestion: Anolis sp.- there are some 450 different varieties and they have gecko-like qualities to them. I breed 19 different species personally and they can be great fun.

Just my 2 cents.

I plan on getting a crested gecko sometime around Christmas, maybe a little bit after. They seem pretty easy to care for and really neat. Though if I had the room for a bigger tank, I'd love to have a BTS or beardie.
