Hello all,

I'm fairly new to the leo breeding scene and I have a Sunglow (assuming it's Bell) and I'm looking for a male to breed with her but do not know where to start. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

This will be helpful for experimenting :)

Also, this is a great link to learn the basics about morphs.

You can't cross the different albino lines, so I would suggest you post a full body pic and an eye pic of the gecko so we can help you to identify the correct albino strain.

TY for the quick reply. Here are some pics. I am by no means skillful with a camera!

Why are you assuming it's a Bell?

Before you even think about breeding you need to research more. First you should at least know the morphs of your leos before even thinking to breed. ;)

Please start doing your research to make sure it IS what you want to do, before you end up with babies on the market that are unwanted and you don't want them either. ;)

Solely on the fact that it is the most common of the Sunglow line. I do not have enough experience with Leos to distinguish the different albino strains.

I did state that I was new to breeding leopard geckos. I breed ball pythons.

The Bell Sunglow isn't them most common Sunglow Line. I would be willing to bet the Trempers are. A picture of the eye is needed to identify the correct albino strain. One in which we can clearly see the veins. I would want to be 100% correct of the genetics to make sure that your not crossing different albinos together like every one else has mentioned. It's not a good thing to do with leopard geckos. Just gonna take a bit to understand the in and outs leopard gecko genetics.

I did not know this! I guess you learn something knew every day ;). I will try to get a better picture than the previous (http://img338.imageshack.us/i/53628955.jpg/). Dang camera does not want to focus and she keeps turning away!

Bell Albino's eyes are more pink (if you squint at them, the overall shade will be light pink not silver). The Tremper's eyes are mostly silver with small pink veins.

Here is the rest of the website where I found that photo, they have a nice description for you to see the phenotype of each albino.

After looking at the photo of yours zoomed in I'm going to take a stab and say it looks like a Bell. Most Trempers look more silvery and darker to me. Perhaps more people will chime in too :)

Thank you for the educated guess and for the website, very helpful indeed.

I'm going to say tremper. And welcome, you have a gorgeous gecko! :)

Thank you so much! She was a craigslist pick up for $20 since the owner was moving out of state. She even showed up with a U-haul truck. o_O

Here are 2 other pictures. They are not the best but between the camera not focusing and her constantly closing her eyes (falling asleep!), it was very hard to get these. I just want to be certain, the last thing I want to do is breed/sell a gecko with very bad/"taboo" genetics.
