Hello,

Can a Sunglow x Nova pairing produce Sunglows?
I mean, such pairing will give 50% Tremper Albino Hypo HET Eclipse, won't some of these Albinos be Sunglows if they develop no body spotting (Super Hypo)?

This pairing would also add the enigma gene as well. It should give a 1/2 hypo tremper albino het eclipse and 1/2 hypo enigma tremper albino het eclipse. I do not think any of the offspring would be a super hypo, because the offspring are only hypo and contain only one copy of the hypo gene. This is just off the top of my head so I could be wrong. Anybody feel free to correct me.

So this pairing can never hatch a Sunglow? I mean, the Albino Hypos it gives can never be considered Sunglows?

Hypo is not a Dominant/ Co-Dominant gene, it is line bred and the better expression is called "Super". Hybino (Hypo Albino) and Sunglow are used interchangablely to decribe a Hypo Tangerine Albino (usually patternless from the hypo gene).

So the quick answer to your question should be Yes... It is possible but you will possibly get more nice Tangerine Albinos than Sunglows and the Sunglows may not be of the highest expression.

Hey you can for sure produce sunglows with this pairing. The quality of the sunglows might not be top notch, depending on the adults of course. Half will be enigma, all het eclipse!
Thanks

I believe the same would be true for a nice Hypo Tangerine het Albino x Nova pairing, right? The het on the Tangerine would allow for this pairing to also produce some potential Sunglows and Hybinos yes?

Hypo is not a Dominant/ Co-Dominant gene

I certainly don't agree with that. I agree that is what has been hammered home from the beginning of time, but I and many others do not believe that to be true.

I believe as many others do that Hypo is a dominant morph. So in my opinion a Super Hypo is both a dominant and a line bred morph, the Super part being line bred.

I understand what you mean and agree with that, but do you also agree that this pairing can produce Sunglows?
