Super Raptor Genetics

i am confused about the raptor genetics... first a raptor has eclipse, paternless, and tremper right? and a super raptor would be a the same only adding the super snow? I also wanted to know if a tremper albino eclipse is possible or is that a banded raptor??

tpe is raptor. patternless reverse stripe.

The P in raPtor is not patternless (the gene) its patternless stripe. Two completely different genes. A raptor (generally speaking) is a Tremper Eclipse. The whole "banded raptor" thing is just saying its a rator...not patternless stripe. Then people say RERS for a "red eye reverse stripe" which is simply a reverse stripe raptor. Dont know if that answers your question...its late and my pregnant wife has this house almost freezing.A Super Raptor is a Super Snow Tremper Eclipse. Just another all white gecko with red eyes IMHO.

RAPTOR stands for Ruby-Eyed Albino(Tremper) Patternless Tangerine ORange. So yes, it combines Eclipse (red & snake-eyed expressed in albino form), Albino, and Patternless Stripe. And you are correct on the Super RAPTORs, just a Super Snow RAPTOR. They are nearly identical to Diablo Blancos, only the genetics tell them apart.

As far as I know, VMSherp has produced some Red-Eyed Tremper Albinos. You can find them on their website underneath their breeder Leopard Geckos. They say that they are just Tremper Albinos enhanced with the Eclipse gene. I'd go have a look though, they are quite pretty Sorry I cannot post the link to the website at this time, the computer I'm currently on won't let me cut and paste links.

oh i see cuz i was thinking of doing a project for next year, and well im not a genetics pro but if i cross a super snow eclipse x super raptor = super snow eclipse het tremper? or raptor?

A Super Raptor is a Super Snow Tremper Eclipse. Just another all white gecko with red eyes IMHO.

From that pairing you will get 100% Super Snow Eclipse het Raptor/Tremper. I would be amazed if your SSE was not at least pos het for some albino strain. There are not too many PURE eclipse anythings running around because they have to be test bred in order to confirm that. So you can potentially make Super Raptors as well.

oh yea i forgot to ad the het, now i dont regret studying biology at highschool xD but you guys think that its better to produce pure eclipses?? cuz if those hatchlings were bred to a super eclipse it would be 50/50 het and non head and that would go down each gen...

If I were to have only 1 all white gecko with red eyes I would have still loved them. Just after last season seeing so many super raptors and super novas in the bator and hatchling tubs just lost its WOW factor for me. I love patterns and colors...not saying doing a Super Raptor project isnt fun or worth it. Just do whatever is going to keep you excited and captivated with the hobby and dont worry too much about what everyone else wants or is doing. Have fun with the project and keep us posted on if that SSE proven to be het or not.

Yes...thats true but then you have to take all the hets (which in a ss you wont always know for sure if its eclipse or just a ss) and then test breed it out before you can call it pure. Your looking at at least 3 seasons to HOPEFULLY create a pure eclipse. Nice project if thats something you want to create...but there is probably someone with ss ph all ready which can save you 2 years if they prove out for you. All depends on the way you want to go about doing it. I just like pure eclipses and if it must be albino I like RW and Bells. Kristi would be someone I would ask about Eclipses...she produces some KILLERS all the time.

This is your first season...just have fun with it and make sure you have your husbandry and incubation on lock before crazy projects pop their head. You will get burnt out real fast is your not doing what YOU want. breeding is easy but when you have all those babies thats a lot more time, money, effort, and just WORK that you have to do. After switching purely to project that I want (not concerned about what the market is saying) I have been feeling back to truly enjoying it. Also my goal is always only to break even every year. Im not in this for the money or anything other than just a hobby and passion for reptiles.

I think when im tired I get long winded...o well
