Superworm adventure

This evening I went to an unamed large pet store to get crickets. While I was waiting for service, I checked out the superworm containers. There were 2 sizes --12 count and 50 count. I opened the first 50 count: no live superworms. The second 50 count: 2 live superworms; the third had a few more but the container was split up the side. When I checked out the 12 count container, I found a few living ones and also a living superworm alien. The worker was nice enough to dump all the containers and count out 12 superworms (that was about all there were from the supposed 162 expected superworms), put them in the 12-count container and throw in the alien. I have already fed off most of the superworms, but 4 plus the alien are each in their own container and I'm going to try to breed superworms, beloved of my little super snow.

we had 3 supers turn into pupaes and then into beetles... but for one reason or another the beetles seemed to die off pretty fast... needless to say i dont think we ended up with any babies... keep us posted as to how it goes... we were just discussing tonight if it would be worth trying again or not... but we get our supers for 1.50 a dozen... much cheeper than the mealies... wich are takeing off for us... just waitin for the growth fairy to come and make em feedable size
