I was thing about changing staples and was wondering how many superworms do you feed an adult leopard gecko per feeding? Also is it more cost effective to feed supers or mealworms?

-Thanks

I feed 3-5 superworms every 2 days to my adults and my juvies eat whatever they want every other day which is about 3ish each. since they are alot bigger than mealworms I think they are more cost effective and in my experience live longer than mealworms. Just my opinion.

I never had any luck with morios (superworms) with my leos I still just use mealworms and locusts, Just got a bigger size of locusts.

as long as i make the super worms squirm enough and they arent too big for the sub adults they eat them. the adults eat the big juicy ones like candy

All of our Leos eat supers. Adults get 2-3 large superworms every 2-3 days (on average, some eat more or less than others) and juvies average 4-6 small/medium superworms every other day.

to maintain a steady growth we feed 1 super every 2 days during the off season. during breeding season it varries but standard rule of thumb for us is 1 per day for females that are laying as to help maintain food energy.

It also depends on how much weight the geckos lose while they are laying as well if i give 2 or just 1. A good scale that reads the to tenth of a gram is going to be critical for keeping good weight records.

my leos only eat like 2 to 4 supers every couple days. they are huge and filling. for cost effectiveness i hope you are breeding the worms yourself because that is definitely the way to go. both are kind of expensive at pet shops. supers are great because they are huge but they are slightly harder to breed than mealworms. with mealworms i feel like its almost impossible to kill them, but if i leave the supers alone too long they eat each other because they need moisture like potatoes, carrots, etc. neither are too hard to breed tho!
