Superworms for Leos

I've tried searching but can't seem to come up with the answer to this. I started raising superworms for the bearded dragon and have lots of them, and am thinking about feeding some of them to the leopard geckos. Some people say superworms are safe for leos, others say not, and still others say to crush their heads first. (Eeeww!) The general rule is not to feed anything larger than the space between their eyes when you feed roaches and crickets, but does that apply to superworms? Would I need to feed only baby superworms? Two of my leopard geckos are rescues, and they're about 1/2-2/3 the size of the leopard gecko I bought from someone who had an ad on this site. All three are adults. The smaller ones often have trouble shedding and have been that way since they arrived here. Would their size make any difference?

Thank you!

Superworms are fine to feed to Leos as long as you gutload them or dust them properly. You do not need to crush their heads. And the same rule applies as to not feed a worm that is wider than in between the Gecko's eyes.

My Bearded Dragon loves Supers!! I have about 7 Leos that will eat them. They are 60 gram +, and have no problems eating. They learn to go for the head first.:main_yes:

Most of my adult leos have superworms as their staple food. I've had juvies as small as 11 grams eat medium size supers successfully (this one wouldn't eat much of anything else).

Excellent, thank you! The beardie can't keep up with eating all the superworms.

And hello Aliza, glad to see that you're still on the forum. It's been a while since I stopped by. Confetti and Snowdrop are still here, and now there's a third leo, a lavender stripe gem snow. Her name's Beauty, and she's much bigger than the other two. Leos are so pretty, it was hard to stop at three.
