Superworms

I had one dragon who had to have freshly shed supers in order to digest. The other was fine with regular ones. Sometimes it's just a matter of an adjustment on the owner's part in order to better accommodate the animal's individual needs.

Good point! makes sense, I guess some have more sensitive digestion systems than others.:)

I can now say that I feed supers to all of my geckos and they love them! I have a mixture of small to large so I can feed the right size to the right size gecko.

They have more fat then mealworms. Too much fat. Crickets are best.
Nutrition Guide:

Why not include the fact that they have more protein in your statement as well? Is that not a very important part of determining which feeder to be the staple? While crickets can be good feeders, they aren't the best. Just widely available at any pet shop.

In looking at various nutritional guides, I have found that some percentages vary a bit, depending on what that feeder breeder sells...........

A lot of folks breed their own feeders, and chose according to both nutrition and the ability to house the quantities necessary to do so.

Let's be honest, the main reason people avoid the healthier feeders is expense. I believe if you love your reptiles you should feed them what's best for their health. As for protein the vet told me the ratio of fat, calcium, phosphorus, ash and so on is what should be considered. Of course variety, but a variety of items lower in fat. He asked a question so I gave him my opinion.

You dont know the reason why everyone chooses the feeder they choose so dont assume you do. Actually crickets are cheaper in most places so your reasoning doesnt add up.

I know crickets are cheap. I recommended crickets over superworms due to the fat content. When I mentioned expense, I was refering to other feeders: silkworms, hornworms, pheonix worms, roaches (I know not allowed in Florida)
butterworms as a healthier variety.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion as to the best feeders, so long as they don't try to force those opinions on anyone else.

According to this line of logic, a lot of folks here don't love their geckos because we feed superworms. Bleh.

wow, that's really mature at your age! I have a right to my opinion. I was not talking to you. I was giving the person who asked the question my opinion. I guess you have nothing better to do than sit all day on a computer overriding everyones comments like your such a genious and know it all. Unless you are a vet have respect for other peoples opinions and personal experiences instead of trying put yourself up on a pedastal.

Let me guess know your going to report me for defending myself!
