Supplementation questions

I just want to make sure I have this straight.

Vionate is the multivitamin a lot of people are using? This is the powder that shows a picture of a dog and cat on the front and can be found on a lot of bird sites and amazon as an example?

Osteo-Form is a clacium without D3?? Which stays in the mealworm bowl and in a separate calcium bowl at all times?

Then you also need a calcium product with D3 that you dust weekly?

Do most people recomend the Vionate or Herpvite as the multivitamin?

Can the multivitamin be kept in the mealworm bowl with the osteo-form?

Do you keep a little gut load in the mealworm bowl as well as feeding it to the mealworms, silkworms, crickets, etc.? I am using the gut load from Pro Geckos.

Thanks for your help and advice. This site is invaluable.

Osteo-Form is a clacium without D3?? Which stays in the mealworm bowl and in a separate calcium bowl at all times? i can not remember if it has D3 or not

Then you also need a calcium product with D3 that you dust weekly? once a week with d3

Do most people recomend the Vionate or Herpvite as the multivitamin? yes

Can the multivitamin be kept in the mealworm bowl with the osteo-form? i put both in the mealworm dish. however i leave some plain calcium in a dish by itself, some people chose to leave vionate instead.

Do you keep a little gut load in the mealworm bowl as well as feeding it to the mealworms, silkworms, crickets, etc.? I am using the gut load from Pro Geckos. no i do not keep the mealworm gutload in the mealie bowl. i gutload my feeders a 12-24 hrs prior to feeding

like i mentioned earlier check out cody @ progeckos, he carries both osteo form and vionate. also he can answer your question about D3 in the osteo form

Thank you Robin. From what I am reading in several of these supplementation posts, people are leaving the osteo-form in as their pure calcium. I have been using my calcium in the mealworm bowl and a small separate bowl of just calcium. I also gut load for 24 hrs prior to feeding, but wasn't sure if the benefits would wear off it took the leo a day or longer to eat them.

I looked up the osteo-form that Cody sells and the label shows a minimum of 15,300 IU of vitamin D3. Of course that is based on a horse, but I am confused because it looks like several people are saying they use this as their pure calcium and then a calcium with D3 once a week.

Again, thanks for the info. I will check with Cody.

all of the osteo forum is going to be the same. but like you said the amt of D3 is based on a horse. also check the possibility of D3 and calcium that the vionate might contain.
