This cute lill' guy hatched today. He's a little small but I think he will do just fine. Caught him resting and didn't want to bug him too much but I couldn't resist a couple snapshots. In one pic I have him posing next to a Snow Tremper (a preemie 2 weeks old) for comparison.

Are you sure it isn't a Super Raptor?

I know.... that's what I've been thinking all day. But these genetics baffle me. I actually bought a nice "Tangerine Tremper" from JMG.... but when I looked at her closer I saw she had red snake eyes so she must be a RAPTOR. Perhaps they did not notice her eyes?

Here is a photo of the mom:

Mom again, sorry this one's a bit blown out

As far as I know snow is not in any of these guys but hey you never know... :main_robin:

She has Raptor eyes but the body pattern is odd. Do you know what her parents were?

I'd have to shoot an e-mail to JMG. As a matter of fact I'll do that now. I hope they can somehow remember her to be able to give me some records.

They sold her as a "Tangerine Tremper" but I'm not all too convinced that's what she is. That's why I wanted to pair her with my RAPTOR to see what we'd get... :) Hmmm

Neat little baby. Did it hatch early? That could explain the lack of color.

Yea, he did. Still had the yolk sac on him. I'll keep an eye on him to see how he changes and post more photos in a few weeks.

Darn little buggers it's the second preemie this season. Last season I had really fat healthy hatchlings incubating for females. This year I've been incubating at 86 for mixed sex and had a few temp flucs when our AC has been acting up... maybe that's why I've been getting preemies. Better that than deformities. They are such fighters when it comes to life! I'm sort of partial to those preemies because I was one myself, born at 4 months early at 1 lb. 13 ounces.

Hey guys. JMG has not gotten back to me still. I'm still assuming that the mother is just a normal banded RAPTOR.

Anyways, here's an update of the little guy- photo taken today.

Here is another reverse stripe RAPTOR from the same parents that just hatched today. Don't worry the blood is just a little egg juice, I caught this guy hatching and carefully put the egg into his new enclosure so he wouldn't have to get perilite stuck all over him. Then took the shell away for the photo! :]

Several hours later I saw this one's clutchmate's egg had dented and had a small slit in the top... I cut it open further and inside was a fully developed dead jungle RAPTOR. RIP lill' guy!

That will be a beautiful Reverse Stripe Raptor! :main_thumbsup: Its sibling is very pretty, too. :main_yes: Sorry for the clutchmate...

What does this little one look like now? Update demanded!

Don't worry, I'll take some photos when I come home from Vacation after I clean the tanks. ;)

My dad is taking care of the leos for me and he said another baby hatched he didn't specify what container it was from but said it had black on it so I think it's a Hypo/Tangerine. Already, the Jungle RAPTOR is getting very yellow w/ vivid rings wherever she has a marking. I'll get pics up right here on this thread.

Update: I had to cull the reverse stripe raptor last night. He/she was near death and would not even eat slurry from a syringe and was still very tiny- very little growth. On the bright side the jungle raptor is doing great, yellow is overtaking some of her white markings , and 2 bright solid ruby eyes.

Here's another update on the jungle RAPTOR!

I finally got some eye shots of her. Look at the tangerine finally creeping in! It would be awesome though if she held a lot of that lavender throughout her life.

Hatched 6/30/11
