I don't know the gender of my Leo, but just today it's been more active during the day, and wagging its tail back in forth horizontally and sometimes it will lift it almost vertically and wag it. Only thought was maybe its a girl and she's in some kind of heat?

Female geckos do ovulate in season and sometimes exhibit different behavior, but they don't go 'into heat" like mammals and wave their butts around like cats. This is probably the gecko action for "this is my territory".

I get this posture from my males when they are placed in my holding cage (used during cleaning time) and smell another male that was just removed from the holding cage. However someone else may know something I dont concerning this.

Did it look like this?

If so, that's a defensive posture, a territorial display. Both male & female can do it. If there was no other geckos around, then your gecko may have seen its reflection.

My two youngest did that. They could see each other from their respective terrariums. It got to the point where Lethe tried to bite Kokytos through the terrarium walls. I ended up taking a sheet of computer paper and sticking it to the outside of Lethe's terrarium - all was good after that :)

Mine do this at their reflection all the time, it so funny. One of my females started doing it at my hand when I'm messing around in her tank but I think it's a bluff cause if I go to stroke her head she doesn't even flinch haha
