Hi,

sorry that I start again with posting too many pictures...but my PC was not working for at least two mounth. So I could not take pictures not to mention post them. But now it's working again, what means: Photo time!
So you already know this animal, but I took some new pics of it today for a possible buyer of this one:

But the more I look at it the more I think about keeping it...

I don't think it's something genetic (although its parents are quite light Hypos), but it definately looks cool. A picture to show the contrast to a normal Hypo:

You mean Kelli hasn't tried to swipe it for her dark project yet? I would definately keep that one to see how it turns out and perhaps line breed it. Have you hatched out any siblings looking the same/similar? Just wondering if it's something from the parents. Did you incubate it low temp?

Looks like you burnt one hahahaa. Definately a different one, if you do decide to keep her I expect some updates :).

Yes one of my holdbacks which is an older sister of this one (not the same mother, but the mother of the brown one in this thread is the grandmother to the older sister...father is the same) is a bit on the dark side as well. But not as dark as this one. I'll try to get some pics of the older sister the next days.
This one and the older sister are both females, so they were incubated at low temps. I incubate females at 25°C (77 Fahrenheit?) which is pretty low. But I hatch light colored Hypos at this temps as well. So I don't think it's just the incubation temperature that plays a role here.

Nice! I love the dark eyes!
What I noticed is that her eyes look different from the "normal" Hypo eyes. The "normal" Hypo eyes have this white stuff around the pupil as you can see in this ones eyes:

Well...I have to check the eyes on her older dark sister as well...

if it were me I would start line breeding that animal
I doubt this is something genetic here. But line breeding could be a possibility here...

Thank you all for your replies and comments,
Johannes

I said in another TUG is working with animals that are very similar to that one you have... That would be a very cool project to work on... You should do some test breeding and see if it comes out in the offspring...

AWESOME LEOS!!!
