Taming

Hi guys,
So I have a couple questions about taming my baby white knight Leo. I’ve had experience with reptiles in the past but it’s been a few years and I’m starting back. Most of my experience has dealt with skinks, tegus, chameleons and beardies with a few snakes along the way but this is my first leopard gecko and I keep hearing conflicting advice.

I know the hand in tank taming method and was going to use this method but more and more I hear it’s best to just pick up and handle them for 5-10 min a day until they get used to you. Which is best?

Also I usually let my reptiles settle in for a couple weeks before working with them but now I’m hearing it’s better and less stressful in the long run to work with them after a couple days. How long do you all wait

It depends on the gecko. When I was getting new leopard geckos, I'd wait until it was clear that the gecko was eating and then I'd handle it a few minutes a day. I think whatever the gecko will tolerate makes sense, and there are some leopard geckos (I own at least one) that never really tolerate it!
