About how long does it take to tame a gecko? I know there are exceptions
but on average? I've had my gecko for almost two weeks and he still seems pretty scared of me. I put my hand in the tank a few times a day and hold him twice a day

Keep doing that and eventually he'll get used to you. Remember to be gentle and to let him guide your hand, i.e. if he wants to pull forward and get on the back of your hand, let him. Although because he's still wary of you, make sure to do this over the tank in case he decides to make a leap of faith.

As far as I know, there's really no average. It just depends on the gecko. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, and sometimes it takes years. Just make sure all your handling sessions are good, as in no grabbing, no dropping, etc. Eventually he'll associate your hand with warmth and food. Hope that helps. :)

Oh, and I've also found that letting them sniff your hand first before starting to handle him works very well. Also, try not to grab him from above - as that's what a predator might do. Instead, gentle scoop him up from the sides.
