I know I have asked a lot but I don't know what the alternative names are for each leopard gecko morph so therefore I don't know what to put into the genetic calculator.

What would the offspring be if I bred a:

Tangerine X Tremper Jungle Albino? Tangerine albino otherwise known as sunglows... correct?

and

What other two morph combinations are cool? List some of your favorites and their offspring please!!

no they would be mild tangerine coloured, with an abberant or jungle pattern het for tremper.
No sunglows in the first generation.

and into the morph calculator, put in tremper albino, then click jungle. and then as the other put tangerine... pretty self explanatory.

becuase its not a genetic morph as such its just a sort of line bred trait. but that calculator that i gave a link to you has a tick box for tangerine, under polygenic traits. which is what tangerine is.
these are the types of things that have led many people to say you dont sound ready to be breeding.

I don't care if I don't know about color!!!!! I have been told that they will make sunglows this is why I am asking!!!! Not knowing what color your gecko will turn out has absolutely nothing to do with the health and well being of the gecko. Please do not say I am not ready to breed. Like I have said before, I KNOW WHAT TO Do AS FAR AS TEMPS., BREEDING, FEEDING, HOUSING AND CARE GO!!!!!!! THE COLOR DOES NOT MATTER!!! ANSWER MY QUESTION IF YOU WANT TO! BUT IF YOU DON'T THEN DONT CRITICIZE ME AND TELL ME I AM NOT READY TO BREED JUST BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT COLOR SOME OF THE BABIES WILL BE!!!!! BASICALLY ALL I ASKED WAS TO DEFINE A SUNGLOW SO THAT I CAN COMPARE CHARACTERISTICS! AND I am not going to even be getting my other adult leopard geckos for another 30 days, so I have time to learn and absorb!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:Thank you for not helping.

Apparently you didn't take the time to red the link I posted for you either as it is all spelled out there as well. http://www.paulsagereptiles.com/LeopardGenetics.htm

If you can't figure out what the morph would be and what's het and ph then you ARE NOT ready to breed. Sorry but it's just the truth. Don't get mad at Jordan for speaking the truth. Basic care and knowing how it all works is just part of it, being able to properly ID your babies for market is another completely different yet highly important part of breeding and raising leos. Many here have tried to answer your questions to no avail as you keep posting the same thing over and over again, why don't you take some time and try to help yourself by reading the links that have been posted and having a better understanding of morphology seeing as that is where you seem to lack the knowledge.

To make it easy for you YET again here is your definition of Sunglow. "Hybino Leopard Geckos are essentially the result of combining the recessive albino traits with the polygenic Hypo and Super-Hypo characteristics to produce Albinos with a solid or almost solid yellow to orange body color with varying amounts of carrot-tail and tangerine. These are referred to as "Sunglows" by some people. Hybinos can be created for each of the three strains of Albino, and can vary just as much as the Hypos and Super-Hypos."

which you would have found IF you had read the link I posted to you 2 days ago. If you're going to get mad and have little fits every time some one asks you to do something or educate yourself more before getting into breeding then you have bigger problems than teh lack of understanding morphology. No one is going to want to help you if you act like that.

Mods... sorry if any of this seems out of line, it just gets very frustrating when you try to help, and keep getting kicked in the face.

Before you breed you should have an understanding of morphs and genetics. If you think that you can get Sunglows your first generation you don't have an understanding of basic recessive morphs. Jordan was only trying to help.

But that is the only thing I asked. I asked if I could. Nobody gave me a straight forward answer. But now that I have read more about it I understand about line breeding to produce brighter colors. Everybody has been attacking me because I didn't understand how to use the calculator. I don't know eveything about every morph I just know about the morphs I want to breed to. The other part of my question wasn't answered either. I simply just aske, "what breeding projects are you guys working on?" I mean, if you are going to be mean and put me down saying I should breed, why post anything at all? And this 'dog shrink' person has said, "well if you would just educate yourself." Or "If you would even read anything" And other comments that simply were rude and not needed. 'Jordan' has also answered with the same attitude as this dog shrink person and all I came here for was help. Not to be criticized and told not to breed and told to actually educate myself. I bet when more than half of these people started breeding they didn't know everything about every morph. All I asking is what the babie would turn out to be. I asked for clarification from what somebody else told me. I am just tired of everybody saying rude stuff when I cam here looking for help. Not to get tossed around a bullied by some 'know-it-all' gecko breeders. All I am asking is for you guys to just think about how it will effect the person before you type it.

First off I don't breed, and second you were given the info you needed to find the answers for yourself. And honestly when you have some one as experienced as Joey telling you you aren't ready then maybe you should reflect on that a little bit. We ALL were only trying to help... you just didn't want to hear you aren't ready. Nobody was attacking you for not understanding how touse teh calculator, they were getting upset with you for wanting to start a breeding program before you completely understood the morphology behind the breedings. ANY good breeder should know what paring certain leos together will produce. I wasn't being rude and I put it as nicely as possible. heck I even provided you WITH the information you needed to educate yourself but it still apparently wasn't read. Why not try to look at it from OUR eyes, the more experienced owners/breeders (well not me because I'm new to leos too but I've spent at least 100 hours on the computer in the last few months educating myself and talking to my breeder), maybe the lack of response from some of the most knowledgable people on the forum should be taken as a hint that they may not support what you're trying to do with out having a good understanding of the morphs. Not ALL morphs hon, but it seems you don't even have a basic understanding of the morphs you want to work with. I completely think about what I say before I type it, and try to put it as kindly as possible, bringing life into this world without an understanding of it, how are you going to sell your babies? Are youplanning on keeping them all? Is there even a market for the morph you want to produce? it's not just about producing babies, any one can do that, it also requires market-ability, experience, gaining the respect of those in the industry, and then and only then (IMO) are you ready to breed after you have all that planned out. I would tell my son the same thing, and honestly it's no different than a back yard breeder who breeds 2 dogs together just because they have papers with out doing the genitic testing, with out having the medical clearances done, have never gained a show point or title on their breeding dogs, with out having a market plan for the pups or the respect of the dog world to even be accepted as a professional breeder. Anything worth doing is worth doing right hon, and rusing into something without a complete understanding is not the way to start. I know you're excited about the prospect of breeding your leos, I think that's great, no one is telling you NEVER DO THIS, we're simply asking you to please educate yourself more on the aspects you don't understand before getting into it is all. Why not find a breeder you like, or one of the breeders you got your leos from to mentor you. That would be more productive than facing possible scrutiny and negativity from others that are much more experienced in the field.

right.

you said:
'I wass told if I breed him to a tangelo it will produce sunglows. Is this true?'

i said:
'and you wont get sunglows from that pairing.'

kinkonks said:
'tremper jungle albino x tangelo i think not all baby sunglow...maybe banded tremper or tremper jungle... hehehe'

Next questions:
you said:
'If I breed a tangerine to an enigma tangerine what would I get?

Also, if I breed a tremper jungle snow het. raptor to a tremper het. raptor what would I get?

And If I bred a tremper het. diablo blanco to a tremper het. diablo blanco, would I get all diablo blanco babies?'

Kinkonks said:
'1. tangerine x tangerine enigma = 50% tangerine 50% tangerine enigma

2. tremper het raptor x tremper het raptor = 25% raptor, 50% tremper 66% het raptor, 25% tremper

3. tremper het DB x tremper het DB not all DB....chance to get DB just 1/16..'

Next thread:

you said:
'tangerine X tremper

tangerine X Jungle

tangerine X tangelo

tangering X raptor'

i said:
tangerine x tremper = mild tangerines het for tremper
tangerine x jungle = mild tangerines, with abberant and jungle patterns.
tangerine x tangelo = tangerines het tremper
tangerine x raptor = tangerine het raptor.

i also gave two links to help you. And so did Kel.

And i cant even be bothered to go to your thread in Housing forum, cuz i can imagine all your questions were answeredc there too.

and if you lok back in this thread then all your questions can be answered.;

now if you have anymore questions ask now and i will give you a straight and simple answer and you can go do what the heck you want with those poor leo's.

Oh and just one more thing to add.

You said:

I KNOW WHAT TO Do AS FAR AS TEMPS., BREEDING, FEEDING, HOUSING AND CARE GO!!!!!!!.

You dont seem to be portraying this knowledge very well, and if you have only one leo, then you cant have enough experience for breeding, you dont have the experience of keeping and maintaining many geckos, which is what youll have if you breed.
you dont have the experience treating with imperfections, deformities, illnesses.
and your 17, so id say at the MOST you could have had you leo for 3 years. Which seems unlikely, it sounds like youve just got your leo less than a month ago.

Im 17 too, and i have 4 different leopard gecko books. Records and diary of all improtant things that happened with my leos for years back. and tell me any two leopard geckos and i could tell you what the off spring would be.
And WHY?

because i know the importance of research and care for a living an animal, its not something you can just drop into as a whim.

Im 17 and im respected on this forum (or so i think), because ive learnt my stuff, and im not a 17 year old rushing into breeding.

Maggie, I'm sorry you're frustrated with the answers you're getting but people really are trying to be helpful. They may not be giving exactly the answers you want to hear but they are trying to help.

None of us started off knowing everything about all morphs but we researched how each trait worked until we figured it out. With all of the morph reference resources and genetic calculators out there combined with over 4 years of information on this forum the answers have already been given. That's why most people don't get a ton of answers when they as about basic genetic pairings. I'm sorry if you're feeling picked on, I don't think that was anyone's intention.

Thanks Jordan. Once again attck me on another post. I have not had my leopard geckos only a month. I have had them over a year and I have owned others since I was younger. Why don't you ask before you assume... kay?
Why do you say at most i could have had them for only 3 years? I have had animals since I could talk.
And like I have said before. I am not rushing into breeding, I am trying to learn. I have at least a month, AT LEAST, before I even get the rest of the breeding colony, let alone breed. So I don't know why you continue to have this problem with me. I have tried to make things better but then you go on with some other rude or mean comment which takes us 10 step back... again! So please stop!
Only answer my questions if you will be nice. Don't tell me I am not ready to breed when that isn't even happening yet. and don't tell me I don't know what I'm doing. Only answer if you are going to actually be helpful. I do not want any more problems. Thank you.
