Tangerines browning out?

I've seen several adult tangs that were a dark brownish color and I was just curious if it's the fate of all tangerines to brown out to some extent as they age or if this phenomenon is more particular to females taxed by the demands of egg laying? I only ever owned one tangerine myself and didn't have him long enough to see if his coloration would dull with age. It'd be great if someone could provide pictures of older tangerines or at least females that have been bred for a year or two.

I have noticed the same thing. It's probably just like how NOVAs tend to look duller as they age and breed.

I don't have pictures at the moment, but some tangerines can vary on the brown/tang scale depending on health, mood, temperature and substrate color.

I'm not sure abt the fact, but I do notice that they actually Camouflage with the surrounding, as there was once by chance i had run out of hide and temporarily replaced a bright ice cream tub ( Yellow) for one of my tangerine in its tank with warm light focus on it. Who knows the colour turns brighter when i was back to check on her maybe 20mins later. But then, the colour will not stay long, it just looks brighter temporarily.
