The smallest tank you should get is a 40 gallon breeder. It is 36" long, 18" wide and 18" tall. I know yours is only 6" smaller, but that would make it smaller than the minimum.

They could live up to 9 year in research in internet. But sometimes depending on their growth rate, You would get 40 gallon breeder long. this is only minimum for abult.

I agree with above posters. Definitely no smaller than a 40gal for an adult. To save yourself some money, it might be in your best interest to start a hatchling off in a 40gal. If it gets stressed out, you can put a divider in.

Personally, I wouldn't keep an adult beardie in anything smaller than a 4x2x2ft. My beardie, Budo, uses every inch of his 4x2 every day, and still begs to come out and run around the house when I get home. Beardies love space, and while I wouldn't call a 40gal inhumane, your beardie would be much happier in a 4x2.
