Hey everyone. I'm always trying to improve the quality of my pictures. So lately I've been messing around with different lighting setups and backgrounds. I've taken a liking to one combo in particular. I wasn't happy with the background that I was using. The colors never really showed true on any of the pics. I still have a lot of messing around to do, but I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know what you think.

thanks,

jason

The colors seem to blend in with certain morphs with this background. Overall when I look at these, I see yellow-orange which many leos contain. For instance, the Mack stands out more than the RRS. If you pick something neutral, like anything grey toned you're guaranteed to have any color pop. I like the dark grey slate you're using on your site now. The geckos really stand out. The only thing I would do is maybe tweak the lighting.

Anyways that was just my ramblings. Regardless though, I like the photos and you need to go with whatever represents the geckos the best. Finding something you like is always a plus too.

Thanks for the comments everybody. Ryan and Felicia, I hear what you're saying. I've gone through probably 10 different backgrounds, but this one seems to show the colors the best. I liked the dark slate that I was using because it did really contrast with the colors of the geckos. But I could never get the colors to show up, no matter what I did with the lighting. It's like the dark background soaks up the colors. I'll try taking some pics on different backgrounds later and post some pics. You guys can tell me what you think.
Michael, I use an Olympus Evolt E-500 digital SLR. I love it, but I'm still learning how to really use it.

Alright, I messed around with the lighting some more and found a different piece of slate. What do you think? Do these look any better?

Your pics could be blurry and out of focus and everyone would still be able to see how incredible your geckos are. I really like the tangs against the darker background. I love the natural background, simply beautiful.
