Temp flux

When I left home after Easter break, the very first eggs were just settling into the incubator. I'd had it running for a week with NO temp fluctuation at all, a steady 83*.

Yesterday, while on the phone with my sister, she tells me "oh, I forgot to close the incubator" So I asked the temp: 79*. Okay, I thought, one mistake. So I ask "How often do you forget. The answer? "Well it never goes below 79* when I do forget." "How often?" "Sometimes..." At this point I started to say something, when she interrupted. "Also, a couple of days ago it was at 93. Is that bad?"

:angry::wall:

So I asked for how long. She said she didn't know. I asked if that's ever happened before, her answer was "not that high..no.."

I'll obviously take a look at the thermostat and, if need be, move the incubator to the basement when I get home, but that's next week...So my question is, can I expect ANY perfect babies from the three clutches I have incubating now? Or should I expect deformities and other issues?

I had it set for 84 degrees and the power went out and it got to 80 degrees. Then it got to be 90 degrees for 3 days in the room I keep my eggs. And all the eggs hatched out fine.

ours had some pretty crazy temp fluxes early on... up at like 95 and down to low 70s on two different occasions. I know someone else on here has had the same drastic changes, and theirs hatched out fine! Our eggs are due in a couple weeks, so I'll let you know how it goes! :) Don't worry too much, there's nothing you can do now... worrying won't make it better ;). I hope your babies will be ok!
