Temp question

Ok I have my leos set up in a rack with 3'' flexwatt each shelf is either 1 28qt tub or or 2 16 qt tubs. I have the probe to the helix taped to the center of the flexwatt on my center shelf. I set the helix at 95 deg and use my temp gun on the area where heat is and on the leos and only get about an 82 deg reading. If I gun the flexwatt I get the same reading my helix shows. I tried raising my set point and cant get the temp over 86 deg do you think I should swap the 3'' out with 4'' flexwatt or will these temps be ok?

I would swap.
You really want at least 92F for a hot spot.

How long did you let the tape heat up the tub before you took your reading? Also if you have to adjust the helix to be 100 or whatever you need to get the desired heat in the tub then so be it. There will always a some difference from the helix to the substrate.
