Now i have had my first two eggs at 80 degrees for females, How long should i leave them at that temp? I am planning on moving them into the male and female incubator that is set at 85 degrees.

They say at least three weeks. I would go with four weeks to be safe. Just know that moving them to a higher incubation temp can cause defects in the babies. Good Luck!

I wouldn't do a drastic move from one incubator to another. If you want to increase the temperature I'd do it in increments. About one degree a day, no faster. That's just me though, others probably have better answers. :)

Edit: forgot times, I leave them at the 80 for two weeks and than start uping one degree ever other day, by the third week you're on the higher temp.

leave them alone... 60-70 days. I did a test because I am defiant.... 80 for 25 days then right up to 89 (41 days?) , the clutchmate stayed at 80. both have the same color, so it was pointless.

Just be ready for defects ,unless you leave your new incubator @ 80-81.

nothing is definite you could have defects even if you leave it where it is. i think after a month you will safely have the female gender locked in though.

I agree that nothing is definite. But I think he meant that you should be prepared for defects because there is a higher risk when you move them to another temp.

my eggs hatched in about 53 days with temp varring between 78-85. It was like normal temp drops of night time drops and day time raising. Well the pics speak for themselves. They are posted in the hatchling area. When I get my incubator soon, I am just going to keep the temp around 83. When I get my rack built and figure out how much room I have I am going to set a male incubator up because I will have some breeding projects that I will want some males from.
