My bf and I just got our first Baby Crested Gecko. Our room usually stays in the 70's however with the crazy weather changes lately, its starting to get a little on the warm side. The highest it has gotten in the room so far is 80F, which is, from what I understand, acceptable still as long as it doesnt go above 85F. I was just wondering what else you can do to keep your cresties cool during the summer months. I know that misting, which you have to do anyways, can help cool the tank, but also keeping it in a shady area and keeping a fan can help keep things cool.

Is there any other options? I was wondering if keeping a cold towel around the tank or under the tank could help keep it cool or maybe placing a small ice cube in the substrate?

It CAN get pretty hot in my area. I doubt we would ever let it get that hot inside either way, but its better know your options just in case. :main_thumbsup:

i can't think of any other way than lowering the ambient temps to keep Oni cool enough. i am sure there are ways in case of an emergency )like the AC going out, but right now i can't think of any. i am having a brain fart

i completely understand. about two years ego. the AC went out in our house in either july or august ( cant remember). it got around 90-100 in the house. i lost every single crested geckos i had (about 10) and every single gargoyle gecko i had (about 10 as well). it was horrible and nothing i coul; do. we do not have family here and none of my friends were home to take them over
