What are some good temps and lights to use for a Leo? He is a high yellow but I do not know the sex of it. If I post a pic can you tell me the sex by looking at it? I use paper towels for the substrate. I am planning on getting reptile carpet for him or her. If anyone has any advice let me know thanks. :)

Leos do not need supplemental lights.

I would get a under tank heater suitable for your tank.
You want to have the warm side around 90-95F.
Ambient temps on the cool side should be 75-80F
You may need to invest in a thermostat to regulate the UTH so it doesn't get too hot... it really depends... so far mine all maintain good temps without one. So a couple of good probe thermometers are important.

To sex we would need clear pictures of the underside of the gecko where the hind legs and tail meet. Males have bulges and a V of pre anal pores. Females do not... but it kinda depends on the age how accurate one can be.

JMO, I keep my warm side at 91-93, & cool side at 81-83, IMO if you keep the warm side at 90s, then if the cool side being below 80-79 (IMO) is to much of a temp change, but to each his own.

Its good to have more hides than geckos, at least 1 on warm side, & at least 1 on cool side, 1 ALWAYS have 1 of them or another 1 as a moist hide that needs to stay misted.

Reptile carpet or paper towels are ok. I use linoleum, buy what you need once, cut to fit, spot clean when needed, & complete clean once every month, very easy. I'm going to be switching to Eco Earth Coco Fiber soon, they can eat it all they want & won't get impacted & it looks really nice.

UTH is the best way to go for heat, I use a light though, doesn't seem to bother my girls.

The only way to tell the sex of the gecko is to post a picture of its underside. If you look at it & see obvious buldges & a dark colored "v" shape between the legs, def male, none of that, most likely a female, but maybe male parts just haven't developed yet.
