Sorry to hijack your post but I have a very similar naturalisitic tank so my question is if the cresties lay the eggs in the soil and we never find them could they hatch on their own accord?

Sorta like organic geckos lol.

I just logged on the post that question... They're now at the point where I'm pretty sure I can sex them, and I'm happy to say I think I ended up with a m/f pair! Unfortunately like you said Sammag, I'm going to have some trouble if they decide to breed. Since I keep the substrate moist, and the tank is usually a couple degrees (at least) warmer than our house (which is 72*), do you think the eggs would be alright if I ended up missing them?

I am not completeley sure but I have heard about people with giant setups that never find their eggs but just the new babies.

Anyway here is the link yo my tank. I now have another large piece of wood in that patch of dirt leaning up against the original piece so you can imagine the hassle it will be to find eggs.:D

That's you're tank? I remembered seeing pics of it before and was trying to find them for inspiration... Where did you find all the moss?

Yep thats my tank. I bought that terrarium moss that they sell at my local reptile stor. I beleive it is pre-packaged and dried but just add water and it is alive again. I bought the nature zone variety.
